RESOUND is an ERC-funded project jointly conducted by the Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales (ICCMU), the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). The project is led by Prof. Dr. Carmen Julia Gutiérrez and it started on December 1, 2023. RESOUND’s main objective is to give voice to the signs of Hispanic chant. To achieve this goal, we will employ tools from bioinformatics, genetics, computational analysis, aural architecture, virtual sound and image restoration, along with tools from the humanities, including musical interpretation.

We are seeking a Musicologist (with 300 ECTS in Musicology, MECES level 3) with knowledge of medieval music (preferably with knowledge of Hispanic chant).

What we offer

  • Contract from November 1, 2024, to October 30, 2025
  • Schedule: To be negotiated. Day shift with flexibility from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m.
  • Weekly hours: 25
  • Monthly gross salary: €1.700 in 12 payments with prorated bonus payments
  • Contract start date: November 1, 2024

The workplace is located at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, C. de Manuel Bartolomé Cossío, 28001 Madrid. The selected candidate will be employed by ICCMU and will work in a hybrid format, both in person and remotely.

Specific tasks

  • Compile the necessary sources, materials, and documents required for the Project and accomplish the online digitalization of materials.
  • Extract and analyze data from the materials, including working with genomic tools where applicable.
